Main Responsibilities

This is a rare and exceptional opportunity for a Consultant Practitioner Psychologist or a clinician eligible to become one to lead a flourishing psychology and psychological therapy service and provide professional and clinical leadership within East Sussex Mental Health Services.

The role involves leading Psychological Professions in community mental health services across the High Weald, Lewes and Havens area, soon to become two Neighbourhood Community Mental Health Teams. This is an exciting time in the development of East Sussex services, bringing primary and secondary services together as part of community transformation, resulting in a better experience for service users and colleagues.

Key Duties
  • Contribute clinically to the service, focusing on providing consultation, supervision, and clinical review of complex cases.
  • Take responsibility for the strategic leadership of an aspect of service delivery for the rest of East Sussex as part of this senior role.
  • Lead a group of peers who meet regularly for shared working and support, providing peer support and guidance.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in a recognised psychological therapy, leading to professional accreditation in Systemic Family Therapy, Child Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
  • Accredited or registered with a professional body or regulator.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Doctoral level knowledge of applied psychology and psychological therapy, including highly developed knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology and models of psychopathology.
  • Extensive experience of working as a qualified or registered Practitioner psychologist, Psychotherapist, or psychological therapist, including significant post-qualification experience within the Specific Care Group/Service.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of leadership and management in mental health services, including experience of providing successful clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health provider context.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
