Job Description

The mission of the CDM Technical Coordinator role is to liaise with the Client & Principal Designer on matters relating to construction safety, overseeing construction delivery work packs 6 months prior to construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Principal Contractor CDM compliance programme.
  • Support Principal Contractor delivery functions, including Temporary Works, Fire & Emergency Preparedness, Construction Delivery, Marine Works, Site Operations, and Employment Affairs Unit.
  • Ensure timely delivery of Safety Standards audit schedule.
  • Review and accept a range of contractor safety related documents, including RAMS, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Technical review of safety standards and procedures.
  • Production & delivery of CDM related training material.
  • Act as a CDM subject matter expert.
  • Represent the Principal Contractor at NEC risk reduction events.
  • Oversight of Tier 1 contractor mobilisation to site.

Requirements:

  • Design and engineering hazard reviews and assessment of risk.
  • Applying the Principles of Prevention during the pre-construction and construction phase.
  • Working knowledge of heavy civils.
  • Experience with bulk mechanical erection.
  • A thorough working knowledge and experience of the CDM 2015 Regulations, other health & safety regulations, and a good knowledge of construction related activities.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Able to work effectively with people at all levels and from all backgrounds.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to excel in a direct client facing role.

Qualifications:

  • Construction related degree.
  • HND Building, civil engineering.
  • Chartered membership: CIOB; ICE; IMECHE.
  • Technical Member: IOSH.
  • Member: Association for Project Safety.
