Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs & SEMH) to join our partner school in Islington. As a SEND Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs & SEMH), you will work with students who have a range of SEMH and SEN needs, providing support on a group and 1:1 basis in a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals and groups of students with SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Adapt to support the varying individual needs of pupils, monitoring and encouraging their progress and development.
  • Gain valuable practical experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2:1 degree from a leading UK University.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEMH needs advantageous.
  • Aspires to have a career as a SEN Teacher, Educational Psychologist, or Clinical Psychologist.
  • Will be resilient, able to take initiative, and work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.
  • Some personal care will be a part of this role.
