Job Title: Transport Team Leader

We are seeking a skilled Transport Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our Transport Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating drivers and vehicles to loads, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate drivers and vehicles to loads, taking into account holidays, sickness, and driver hours.
  • Plan driver start times to meet dispatch KPIs.
  • Communicate with third-party hauliers to ensure collection times are met.
  • Liaise with the shunting operation to ensure smooth pre-loading and unloading.
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers, providing accurate start times, load information, and directions.
  • Ensure orders are dispatched and delivered in the right condition, meeting customer specifications.
  • Communicate with collection or delivery points to advise of any delays.
  • Monitor service levels and maintain them in conjunction with other departments.
  • Allocate equipment for maintenance and service intervals as instructed by the maintenance planner.
  • Adhere to the business Health & Safety policy, reporting any accidents.

Requirements:

  • Transport experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of tachograph and driving rules and regulations.
  • CPC National desirable but not essential.
