About the Job
Tridonic, the electronics manufacturer within the Zumtobel Group, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Technician for its site in Spennymoor. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of production equipment, machinery, and instruments.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance PM system and ensure that all team members adhere to it.
- Lead two projects annually focused on predictive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Provide guidance and direction to technicians from various departments to help them achieve specific goals.
- Assume a team leadership role, managing a team of eight technicians and providing them with instructions and direction to achieve their objectives.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, breakdowns, and malfunctions to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes.
- Implement and maintain a well-established maintenance program, keeping detailed records to identify recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts.
- Ensure that tools and repair equipment are in good working order.
- Assist with the daily operations of the organization.
- Cover process technician shifts during absences to ensure planned maintenance is completed and production support is maintained.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback to employees as needed, supporting annual appraisals.
- Act as Deputy Team Leader when required and be part of a succession plan.
Your Profile
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively lead the team with good people management experience.
- Demonstrable IT skills in Excel and Word.
- Self-motivated and solution-oriented individual who can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Practical person with a 'can do' attitude, committed to continual personal and business development.
- Ability to understand quality and engineering processes.
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification to HNC Level would be an advantage.
