At CalMac Ferries Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Dual Purpose crew member. This role is a unique opportunity to work on our fleet of ferries, providing operational support to the deck and engine room departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with mooring operations, handling ropes and operating deck machinery as required.
- Support vehicle deck operations, including directing passengers and handling cargo.
- Participate in general deck maintenance routines, including planned maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct bridge watch keeping duties and/or vehicle deck checks on passage.
- Maintain the Engine Room and auxiliary machinery spaces in a clean condition and report any issues to the Chief Engineer.
- STCW II/5 Certificate of Competency as an Able Seafarer Deck.
- Engine Room Watch Rating Certificate.
- Navigational Watch Rating certificate.
- Valid ENG 1 medical certificate.
- ISPS Designated Security Duties Certificate.
- Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats Certificate.
- Crowd Management Certificate.
- Passenger & Cargo Safety and Hull Integrity Training Certificate.
- Effective communication skills and smart appearance.
- Experience acting up in the Higher Grade would be advantageous.
- Be safety focused and familiar with CoSWP, permit to work and risk assessment processes within the company.
- Be customer focused and have a clear understanding of the customer interface and have a proactive approach to customer care.
