Strategic Procurement Manager

We are pleased to be recruiting a Strategic Procurement Manager for our established client in the manufacturing industry.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of suppliers from whom our client buys goods and services critical to their operations.
- Maintain assigned supplier relations by selecting suppliers and negotiating prices for material and/or services required, ensuring procurement of nominated materials and services to agreed programmes by the most economic, timely, and efficient means.
- Analyse, negotiate, and report supplier price changes.
- Conduct periodic commodity surveys to obtain price comparisons; evaluate market trends to develop new services and create cost savings.
- Select new and alternative sources of supply and collaborate with technical staff to select new and alternative materials and services, providing technical and commercial advantage to the company.
- Ensure all purchasing requisitions and programmes are correct and reflect the current supplier's lead-times, keeping management and user departments informed where changes threaten work programmes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years' experience of Purchasing within a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Ability to think strategically with an innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of cost reduction through the use of appropriate strategic purchasing tools.
- Familiarity with ERP, MRP systems & Purchasing systems.
- Supplier Relationship Management.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, offering a salary between £30,000-£37,000 per year depending on experience.
