This role offers a chance to progress your career further and potentially move into a Senior Buyer position, with the opportunity to pursue CIPS qualifications.
Your New RoleYou will work closely with the Head of Procurement, managing direct spend, sourcing new suppliers, negotiating prices, and awarding contracts. You will have autonomy over cost-saving targets and be responsible for navigating these targets through supplier origin, re-tendering, and contract management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage direct buying, sourcing, and working with international suppliers
- Negotiate and influence suppliers to achieve cost savings
- Develop and implement supplier contract management strategies
- Collaborate with the technical team and suppliers to ensure smooth operations
- Work autonomously to achieve targets and drive business growth
- 2+ years of experience in direct buying, preferably in FMCG or Manufacturing
- Experience in sourcing and working with international suppliers
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Supplier contract management expertise
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with the technical team and suppliers
- Up to £45,000 per annum salary
- Flexible working hours (core hours between 9:00-15:30)
