Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Safety Engineer to join our team as a Safety Engineer for Typhoon Aircraft. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the delivery of Design Safety Certification and In-Service Safety activities in support of the Weapon Platform (Typhoon Aircraft) and Support Integration (Typhoon).

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile project with a leading defense company. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering, Systems or Mechanical Engineering and Safety Engineering in a Military Airborne Platform design environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluation of Aircraft and Support, and Aircraft System / Sub-system, design safety in support of Platform and Support safety certification throughout ELC Phases 1 to 6.
  2. Generating, updating and reviewing Aircraft, System and Sub-System System Safety Assessment Reports in support of the certification process or provision of inputs to partner companies.
  3. Generating, updating and reviewing Aircraft Zonal Hazard Analysis Reports (ZHAs) in support of the certification process or provision of inputs to partner companies.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to engage with senior technical and engineering leaders within the business, and Senior external and Partner stakeholders. They will also be able to lead out and influence on the technical aspects and acceptability of Product Safety in a through-life capacity.

Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering, Systems or Mechanical Engineering and Safety Engineering in a Military Airborne Platform design environment.
  • Ability to engage with senior technical and engineering leaders within the business, and Senior external and Partner stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead out and influence on the technical aspects and acceptability of Product Safety in a through-life capacity.
