Senior Site Manager / Senior Building Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager / Senior Building Manager to join our Construction South team working on an exciting new project based in Oxfordshire.

As the successful candidate, you will be the number 2 on site, responsible for delivering various types of projects over £20m+ in value, managing both internal staff and external supply chain to deliver all packages of work as part of the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management, implementing project strategies to achieve the company's sustainability objectives.
  • Establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Understand customer priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintaining good working relations.
  • Ensure Considerate Constructor's Scheme principles are adopted, maintaining a positive site image and managing community relationships.
  • Manage project programmes and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time.
  • Organize the supply chain to provide a smooth working environment, avoiding disruption between trades.
  • Manage the project handover and ensure defect-free completion.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven track record in delivering the full project lifecycle from cradle to grave on various types of mid-large scale construction projects.
  • Experience in using Asta Power project or similar planning software.
  • Good understanding of the design process and ability to input, track, and deliver changes.
  • Planning sequencing, chairing, and running coordination meetings, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • Good understanding of the MEP lifecycle and inputs on a project.
  • Maintain high safety standards on-site while ensuring quality control and adherence to building codes.
  • Hold some commercial awareness, especially around budgeting, understanding scopes of work, and control of variations, along with understanding of basic control involved in traditional contracts.
  • Other software exposures across Viewpoint and use of Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4 etc) or equivalent.
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • SMSTS certificate.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Valid driving license.

  • Can-do attitude and growth mindset.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
