About the Role
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of mental health services in the UK, and we are currently seeking an experienced Memory Care Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a key role in the co-ordination and development of our memory clinics, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients with dementia and their families.
As a Memory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for managing caseloads, exercising good time management and attendance, and participating in team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop strategies for improvement.
You will also supervise and support staff at Band 5 and under grades, develop policies and strategies relevant to the memory service, and demonstrate effective use of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage caseloads, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion
- Exercise good personal time management and punctuality
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop strategies for improvement
- Supervise and support staff at Band 5 and under grades
- Develop policies and strategies relevant to the memory service
- Demonstrate effective use of resources
Requirements
- Qualification and active registration as a nurse
- At least 2 years' experience working as a nurse in a healthcare or social care setting
- Good assessment skills, ability to assess risk and care plan effectively
- Good IT skills
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
