ASSA ABLOY, Traka is seeking a skilled Hardware Development Technician to join our R&D department in Olney, UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced technical and quality support for our products across electronics, mechanical, and firmware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize support requests escalated to the Hardware Team
  • Provide support interface between R&D and the rest of the business to assist with Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware related issues
  • Fault-find to root cause/component level faulty parts and products
  • Build, rework, and repair Printed Circuit Assemblies including surface-mounted components
  • Devise tests and experiments to test prototypes and troubleshoot engineering and maintain our engineering lab including supporting equipment calibration schedules

Requirements:

  • HNC or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • Ability to use Electronic Test Equipment such as Oscilloscopes and Multi-meters
  • Ability to read and interpret Schematic Diagrams and PCB layouts
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings as well as ability to use measurement and inspection equipment
  • Hands-on engineering skills (soldering, wiring, mechanical)
