We are seeking a highly skilled Counselling and Mental Health Officer to join our team at University Centre Leeds. As a key member of our student support team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health and counselling services to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one counselling and mental health support to students, working within a multi-disciplinary team to offer in-person and remote support where appropriate.
- Manage a caseload of students requiring ongoing assistance, providing time-limited counselling, support, and regular review of support needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organisations to establish effective working relationships and provide students with access to appropriate support and care packages.
- Provide guidance to staff on student mental health issues and design and deliver mental health training and development courses for staff.
- Liaise with other areas of the Student Support team regarding ongoing support needs for students who disclose other support needs.
- Professional qualification in counselling at Diploma level 4 or above or equivalent mental health professional practice qualification.
- Registered member of BACP or other relevant body, or willing to register.
- Previous experience of offering counselling services and delivering mental health and wellbeing services or counselling in a college or other educational environment.
- Annual leave entitlement - 27 days holiday plus bank holidays and up to 5 discretionary closure days at Christmas (pro rata for part-time staff).
