Audit and Accounts Manager Role

Unleash your potential with a challenging and rewarding Audit and Accounts Manager position at Protalent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a portfolio of clients and overseeing the audit process, ensuring compliance with company standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a portfolio of clients and plan and supervise the audit process
  • Oversee audit assistants and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements
  • Direct, coach, and mentor Assistant Managers to deliver high-quality service
  • Foster relationships with clients and business departments
  • Negotiate fees and contribute to business planning
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Audit and Accounts services and provide feedback
  • Prepare reports for senior management
Annual Accounts:
  • Handle specific client accounts with efficiency and excellence
  • Offer pre-year-end tax planning and collaborate with Tax Department
  • Ensure high-level service and efficient completion within the 30 working-day guarantee
  • Review accounts with clients, offer advice, and promote services
  • Supervise junior staff and ensure all services are joined up
  • Introduce clients to relevant business development managers for new services
Commercial:
  • Expected chargeability: 1-2 Audit and Accounts Assistants
  • Anticipated mix: 50% audit, 50% accounts work
Technology:
  • Utilise software tools to enhance client experience
  • Achieve and maintain personal software certificates
  • Highlight and implement new software to align with business objectives
  • Any other duties as required by the company
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Possesses leadership skills and acts as a role model
  • Thrives in a pressured environment with drive and resilience
  • Has knowledge and experience of auditing, including IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP
  • Excellent supervisory and project management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT literate with experience in Excel/Word
  • Possesses business development acumen and a willingness to learn
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Time and Exam Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Recent experience as an Audit and Accounts Manager
  • Knowledge of current accounting and financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP)
  • Experience working with SMEs
  • Possession of a driving license is desirable
