Job Summary:

Nicholas Associates is seeking a highly skilled Inspection and Test Engineer to join our team. As an Inspection and Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products by conducting thorough inspections and tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection and Testing: Conduct final inspections of bespoke company products to ensure they meet the required standards.
  2. Performance Testing: Perform performance testing of prototypes and products to agreed test specifications.
  3. Health and Safety: Work to the health and safety procedures laid down by the company to ensure a safe working environment.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment used complies with all relevant safety and performance standards.
  5. In-Process Inspection: Conduct in-process inspections, general tests, and inspection duties to ensure quality and safety.
  6. Fault Finding: Identify and rectify faults, where appropriate.
  7. Instrument Configuration: Configure control instruments and ancillary equipment.
  8. Software Configuration: Configure software.
  9. Calibration: Calibrate products.
  10. Training and Development: Attend on and off-site training as required to fulfill the role requirements.
  11. Field Support: Provide worldwide field support with the existing service team as and when the business requires.
  12. Record Keeping: Maintain organized, accurate, and meticulous records, including inspection reports, rejection reports, calibration records, quality management system documents, and log and prepare test results.
  13. Work Time Recording: Record work time accurately.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Previous experience as an Inspection and Test Engineer or practical experience in an electrical manufacturing environment.
  2. Qualifications: A minimum qualification of C&G or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations.
  3. Skills: Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams (supply & instrumentation), experience in the use of applicable directives, norms, and standards used in light industrial applications, and PLC experience would be an advantage.
  4. Personal Qualities: Self-motivated with a flexible, hands-on approach, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  5. Travel Requirements: Valid passport holder and clean driving license required for occasional travel.
