Maths Academic Mentor Role Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Maths Academic Mentor to join our team at a large, over-subscribed school in Kingston. This full-time, term-time role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking valuable experience, especially for those aiming for a career in educational psychology.

As a Maths Academic Mentor, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to students needing extra help in mathematics, working closely with the class teacher to identify and address individual learning needs. You will also help students improve their understanding of key mathematical concepts and build their confidence, encouraging student participation and engagement in maths. Additionally, you will support students in preparing for exams and assessments.

To be successful in this role, you will have a 2:1 or 1st class degree, ideally in mathematics or a related field, and previous professional experience working with students, especially in maths. A passion for supporting students in achieving academic success is essential, as well as an interest in pursuing a career in educational psychology.

Key Information:

  • Salary: £500-£600 per week (pro rata to term-time only)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
