Job Title: Accounts & Admin Assistant

Success Recruit Ltd is currently working with a well-established business in the construction sector, seeking an experienced Accounts & Admin Assistant to join their team based in Essex.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of accounts, working closely with the Finance Manager, as well as taking on additional general office administration duties. Previous experience with accounts in the construction sector would be beneficial, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and processing supplier purchase invoices, managing the approvals and posting process
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier/subcontractor purchase invoices with statements
  • Assisting with preparation of supplier payment remittances
  • Raising sales applications, sales invoices, and assisting with debtor management
  • Handling customer, supplier, and sub-contractor accounts related queries
  • Processing of weekly labour timesheets and weekly payroll runs
  • Verification of new subcontractors with HMRC
  • Assisting with monthly subcontractor CIS returns
  • Assisting with preparation of quarterly VAT returns, end of year accounts, and liaising with auditors
  • Assisting with preparation and upload of weekly pension contributions, holiday, and welfare benefits
  • Maintaining employee records including holidays, absence, and sickness
  • Answering the phones during receptionist absence
  • Providing administrative support and assistance to the Contract Managers and Directors
  • Other adhoc administration duties
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 2 AAT qualification or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role / environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage / prioritise your own workload efficiently
  • Effective communication skills within a team environment
