Counsellor/Psychotherapist

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor/Psychotherapist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, you will provide high-quality Counselling services to patients, working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Counselling services to patients, including individual and group sessions, via digital and telephone platforms, as well as face-to-face appointments.
- Facilitate groups online or in person, and have excellent administration, IT, and communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide a comprehensive Counselling service, including risk assessment and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- A recognised Diploma or Degree in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Psychotherapy, or Counselling.
- Registration or Accreditation with BACP, BPC, or UKCP.
- Fully competent with data input and IT systems.
- Effective communication in written and spoken English.
- Previous experience of working in an NHS mental health setting, NHS Talking Therapies, or similar organisation.
- Experience in providing short-term, time-limited therapy, including routine outcome monitoring.
- Experience and skills in providing psychological treatment for people presenting with depression and related mental health difficulties.
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment, maintaining self-care and using clinical supervision effectively.
- Capacity to work in situations demanding careful clinical judgement and to maximise the use of clinical supervision with planning and preparation of clinical caseload.
This is a permanent position, with the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including Poole and Bournemouth East. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including one evening per week, to meet service demand.
