About Us

Affinity Care is a dynamic and forward-thinking Primary Care Network (PCN) that provides exceptional healthcare services to our patients. We are seeking an experienced Health Assistant to join our team, working closely with our GP-led practice to deliver high-quality care.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless patient care. As a Health Assistant, you will work under the supervision of our Practice Nurse Lead and Patient Services Manager, undertaking tasks delegated by them and contributing to the overall success of our PCN.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake phlebotomy, record and follow guidelines for tasks requiring training;
  • Conduct urinalysis, prepare specimens for investigation, and measure physiological measurements in routine presentations;
  • Support treatment room activities, maintain stock levels, and assist in raising awareness of health and well-being;
  • Provide accurate information to patients, maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient dignity;
  • Assist in safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, adhering to policies and procedures;
  • Participate in team activities, improve patient care, and contribute to service development and systems re-design;

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • a willingness to undertake training and further education;
  • experience in NHS or GP surgery, performing phlebotomy, and dealing with the public;
  • competency in venapuncture and BP measurement;
  • demonstrated understanding of patient needs, confidentiality, and teamwork skills;
  • ability to communicate effectively, deal with distressed patients, and prioritize workload;

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:

  • 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata for part-time hours);
