About the Mechanical Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Wren Kitchens' manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work a combination of mornings and afternoons on a rotating shift pattern.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment.
  • To provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns and faults, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity.
  • To conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and maintenance of conveyor systems, equipment, and plant, utilizing engineering disciplines to optimize production efficiency.
  • To follow up on any faults identified during planned maintenance activities.
  • To maintain and improve engineering standards to maximize the effectiveness and reliability of our factory and associated systems.
  • To assist specialist subcontractors with PPM and reactive works, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project delivery.
  • To adhere to company QA and site procedures in all aspects of the role.
  • To ensure compliance with company and site Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • To maintain all company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • To contribute to the continued success and growth of Wren Kitchens with a proactive and can-do attitude.
  • To undertake any additional tasks assigned by management to support the business.
  • To maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company standards.

    About You

    We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with:

    • A minimum Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering and relevant experience.
    • PLC qualification.
    • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong technical skills and knowledge.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
    • Team working skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
    • The ability to work independently and take initiative.
