Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Physical Education (PE) teacher to join our team at SENDhelp Limited, a special needs primary school in Harrow. As a Primary School PE Teacher for Special Needs Children, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored physical education sessions to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for supporting children with special educational needs and will be able to adapt physical activities to meet the diverse physical and cognitive abilities of the pupils.

  • Plan and deliver differentiated PE lessons suited to the needs of ASD and PMLD pupils, ensuring activities are engaging and inclusive.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to pupils with ASD and PMLD, fostering positive engagement.
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering high-quality physical education lessons that cater to the unique needs of each pupil.
  2. Collaborating with other teachers and support staff to develop individualized learning plans for pupils with complex needs.
  3. Monitoring and evaluating pupil progress, making adjustments to lesson plans as needed.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A recognized teaching qualification, such as QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
