High Performance Computing Expert

About the Role
UKRI seeks an experienced software engineer to join its team at the Hartree Centre. The successful candidate will work closely with the business development team to identify opportunities for applying high-performance computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop computational models of components, products, and processes.
- Collaborate with the business development team on project scoping, including identifying objectives and feasibility assessments.
- Apply HPC, data-centric, analytics, and AI technologies to enable customers to tackle new challenges.
- Contribute to writing project applications for funding from national and international competitions.
- Manage projects across a range of sizes and types, involving multiple teams within UKRI.
- Maintain relationships with commercial and academic partners through site visits.
- Hold a PhD or equivalent professional experience in areas relevant to extreme-scale computing, mathematics, computational science, and engineering.
- Experience in modeling and simulation, building complex software, and performance profiling with compiled languages.
- Familiarity with HPC, distributed-memory programming, and parallel software development.
Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this role is £58,000 - £64,000, depending on skills and experience.
Location
The role can be based in either Oxfordshire or Edinburgh, offering flexible working arrangements.
