Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Line Up Aviation. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of concept designs, including supporting analysis, with a keen awareness of manufacturing methodologies and a focus on cost.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed designs and layouts to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Support detailed estimates and contribute to product development proposals.
  • Ensure 'Design for Six Sigma' principles are observed throughout the design process and apply data rational analysis to arrive at robust solutions.
  • Check design feasibility by performing design, stress, and performance calculations using 3D CAD, finite element, and traditional analysis methods.
  • Work in accordance with procedures and design standards and contribute to developing best working practices.
  • Liaise with production engineering and production planning to achieve a design/detail package best suited to production.
  • Support engineering change requests and process deviation/waivers where necessary.
  • Deliver against project schedules and meet project milestones while working within a multi-project team environment.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in a similar role.
  • A mechanical engineer/designer with experience in 2D and 3D CAD.
  • Experience of small component design, design for manufacture principles, and fine tolerance components is desirable.
