Youth Worker

As a specialist in restorative practice, you will play a vital role in helping students with social, emotional, and mental health needs to raise their attainment and overcome challenges. This is an ideal role for a Psychology/Criminology graduate with a genuine motivation to work with vulnerable young people and those at risk of offending.
The Provision & LSA role involves working with students who have a range of trauma and mental health-based needs, and providing support to help them achieve their goals. You will work closely with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans, and provide one-to-one support to students who require it.
The school offers a mix of vocational subjects, including computing, hairdressing, PE, and the performative arts, as well as a core base of maths and English. You will work with students who have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and associated learning difficulties, and provide support to help them overcome their challenges.
This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires empathy, pragmatism, and a holistic approach to education. You will learn to focus on the therapeutic side of education and develop your skills in restorative practice and positive reinforcement.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Provide one-to-one support to students who require it
• Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
• Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs to raise their attainment and overcome challenges
• Work with students who have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and associated learning difficulties
• Develop and implement restorative practice and positive reinforcement strategies
**Requirements:**
• Psychology/Criminology graduate with a genuine motivation to work with vulnerable young people and those at risk of offending
• Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
• Ability to work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a challenging but rewarding environment
**What We Offer:**
• Competitive pay rate of £83+ per day
• Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.00pm
