Job Description

Position Title: Design Engineer - Materials and Technologies

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer - Materials and Technologies to join our team at Contechs. As a key member of our Design team, you will be responsible for evolving surface materials and technologies across various vehicle programs to concept and application readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and mature material concepts to a point of application readiness, collaborating with Materiality Designers, Suppliers, and the wider Bespoke team.
  • Work with the Surface Material Integration team to understand production feasibility of new and existing materials and manufacturing technologies.
  • Identify and resolve test failures, working with suppliers to re-engineer materials.
  • Develop timing plans and program manage commodity developments.

Requirements:

  • Experience in color matching of materials, from manufacturing to component technology implementation.
  • Ability to work at pace with Materials Engineering and in-house labs to test new materials, defining new test specs as required.
  • Good communication skills and ability to relate to and communicate at all levels.
  • Proficient in creation of timing plans and program managing commodity developments.
  • Full driving license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive sector.
