Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team at Contechs. As a key member of our Design team, you will be responsible for evolving surface materials and technologies across various vehicle programs to a point of concept and application readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement surface material concepts and technologies to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Materiality Designers, Suppliers, and the wider Bespoke team to ensure seamless integration of materials and technologies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on new and existing materials and manufacturing technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Surface Material Integration team to develop and implement material and component commodity strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in color matching of materials and implementation into component technology.
  • Strong understanding of materials engineering and testing, with experience working with in-house labs to test new materials.
  • Ability to identify and resolve test failures, working with suppliers to re-engineer materials as needed.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience creating timing plans and managing commodity developments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive sector, with a strong understanding of product design and aesthetic judgment.
  • Full driving license.
