Job Title: Camhs Child Psychotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Psychotherapist to join our team at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will provide specialist psychoanalytic child psychotherapy assessment and treatment to children, young people, and their families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide efficient and effective specialist child and adolescent psychoanalytical psychotherapy assessment and treatment for children, young people, and their families.
  • Support and/or provide specialist supervision and consultation for multi-disciplinary teams within CAMHS clinical pathways and to other related staff and agencies in health, education, social services, voluntary sector, and youth support services.
  • Undertake clinical audit, research, and evaluation and contribute to the development of child psychotherapy within the organisation as required.
  • Work as an autonomous clinician within ACP guidelines and the overall framework of CAMHS and trust policies and procedures.
  • Collect and analyse data regarding referrals and outcomes in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment offered.

Person Specification:
  • Relevant Professional Qualification
  • Current Registration with Association of Child Psychotherapy
  • Experience of working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting/service.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of National and local policy and the implications for service delivery Clinical Governance and Clinical Supervision.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Time management skills Service user/carers involvement
Experience:
  • Evidence of post-registration/qualification experience working with Children/young people and families.
  • Experience of working with Multi-disciplinary teams and multi-agency working
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting.
