Senior Social Worker

Newport City Council Childrens Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated social worker to join our team. As a Senior Social Worker - Transformation Specialist, you will play a key role in transforming the lives of families we work with, utilizing person-centred and strength-based approaches to achieve wellbeing outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- To perform all functions of the post in a manner consistent with current legislation and Social Services policies, standards, and procedures.
- To manage a caseload and associated administrative tasks efficiently and effectively.
- To engage and empower service users, their carers, and support networks, actively eliciting service user and carer feedback to ensure person-centred interventions.
- To carry out assessments as appropriate, including carer assessments, within timescales, and contribute to or coordinate the construction of outcome-focused care plans informed by best practice, guidance, and an understanding of the organisational context.
- To work in partnership with other professionals, such as Health, to provide appropriate and effective services for service users and carers.
- To provide written and verbal reports as required, assisting in assessing and monitoring the implementation of plans and outcomes for service users.
- To support the professional development of newly qualified social workers and undertake the workload management and practice assessment of social work students undertaking practice learning opportunities in the team.
- To participate in the planning and commissioning of service delivery as required, monitoring and reviewing service delivery.
- To promote the involvement of service users and carers in both care planning and service development.
