The Head of Operations is a key leadership position within MarkMay, responsible for overseeing the Contracts Division. This division is a critical component of the company, accounting for approximately 50% of the company's turnover.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Operations Managers, Field Managers, and supporting staff to deliver exceptional results. Key priorities will include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to champion a culture of customer service excellence, innovation, and operational focus.
- Developing a best-in-class team by ensuring colleagues have effective development plans, talent mapping, and engagement plans.
- Managing a large Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, overseeing and influencing effective financial control across all budget streams.
- Identifying, assessing, and driving the development of new opportunities to add value to existing contracts.
- Increasing the turnover of the department by growing existing revenue streams and working with the Business Development Director to identify and engage in new revenue streams.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on operator with a proven track record in property services, managing operations, and client and end-user relationships. A sophisticated relationship builder with experience in complex multi-stakeholder environments, the successful candidate will be able to evidence having initiated and maintained long-term partnerships with clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate a team of managers and staff to deliver exceptional standards.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, including financial and contract management.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Manage a large P&L statement and ensure effective financial control.
- Demonstrable P&L experience and a high degree of commercial acumen.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of managers and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness, including financial and contract management.
- Proven track record in property services, managing operations, and client and end-user relationships.
- 23 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
- Hours of work: 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
