Exciting Opportunity in Motor Underwriting

An innovative chance to develop your career in a dynamic underwriting environment with a leading UK insurer.

We are seeking an experienced Motor Underwriter to spearhead the evolution of the private motor product line and underwriting proposition.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the CEO to enhance product offerings, review appetite and pricing, develop distribution pipelines, and reinvigorate the existing book.

With opportunities to become Product Lead and manage a small team, this role will suit someone who is ambitious, innovative, driven, and looking for an opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite personal motor insurances within agreed guidelines and authority levels.
  • Underwrite new and existing businesses, provide quotes, and negotiate pricing.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers, providing technical support.
  • Provide high-quality customer services and deal with all queries.
  • Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to brokers or customers.
  • Liaison with other departments such as Claims, Finance, and IT.
Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of personal lines motor underwriting experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance product features and processes.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively but also independently.
  • CII qualification and degree-level education is desirable.
