Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about providing excellent medical care to our elderly population. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting inpatient services and the frailty virtual ward
  • Contributing to the development of innovative service models and quality improvement initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Full MRCP or equivalent
  • Meets the criteria set out in the generic capabilities framework for specialist grade
  • Appropriate higher degree (e.g. MD, PhD, or equivalent)
  • At least 12 years of postgraduate practice as a doctor, with a minimum of 6 years in the relevant specialty
  • General training in Geriatric medicine to specialist level or equivalent
  • Ability to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion
  • Can evaluate and manage a patient, formulating a differential diagnosis and initiating an appropriate management plan
