SHEQ Advisor

A SHEQ Advisor is required to join a regional Civil Engineering contractor on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a leading contractor in the region, benefiting from local work.

The successful SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable SHE regulations and quality control both on site and within other work areas, primarily focussed on supporting works on the Yorkshire Water frameworks.

This includes advising and assisting operational teams to meet client and legal requirements, providing knowledgeable advice on specialist areas, undertaking SHEQ inspections and audits, and identifying potential hazards, risks and opportunities for improvement.

The SHEQ Advisor will also coordinate and assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations, facilitate production of meaningful reports, establish root cause(s) within set timeframes, monitor remedial / improvement actions and evaluate effectiveness of actions taken.

This role requires a strong understanding of SHE legislation, company policies and procedures, and ISO management standards. The successful candidate will have a minimum NVQ level 3 / NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, working knowledge of ISO 18001/45001, and good MS skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Estimated salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum.
