Job Overview

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, costing, and managing adaptation projects funded by the Disability Facilities Grant (DFG). This involves preparing detailed cost estimates, providing financial oversight, and ensuring compliance with grant regulations. Strong communication skills are essential to explain technical details to non-specialist stakeholders, including disabled clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to assess needs for adaptations such as ramps, accessible bathrooms, widened doors, and other mobility-related modifications.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Architects, and Contractors to ensure proposed adaptations meet individual needs and are practical for the space available.
- Prepare tender documents and specifications for contractors, ensuring required works are clearly defined.
- Evaluate tenders and negotiate with suppliers/contractors to achieve best value for money.

Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional accreditation from RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) preferred.
- Proven experience working in quantity surveying roles, preferably in residential adaptations, housing projects, or DFG-funded schemes.

Salary and Benefits
This role comes with a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits including pension scheme, life insurance, and generous annual leave.
