About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Pressure Control and Air Valve Technician to join our dynamic team at Wessex Water. As a key member of our Pressure Control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and servicing of our hydraulic control valves and associated systems within our water distribution network.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair pressure reducing valves and related equipment across the Wessex Water network.
- Locate and report faults with air valves as part of our network surveying programme.
- Conduct routine inspections and performance testing of pressure valves to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with pressure valves, implementing effective solutions to maintain system performance.
- Review flow and pressure alarms.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs; including maintenance of pressure equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operation.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota and respond to emergency situations when required.
Requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid UK driving licence.
- IT skills including Microsoft products (skilled).
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and customer service skills.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
