About the Job

We are seeking a Housing Officer for a 12-month FTC to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring smooth welcome processes for new customers, and maintaining effective customer relationships.

The role involves conducting property visits and inspections, addressing issues and concerns, and following policies and procedures to ensure customer safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide community stewardship and customer care, ensuring a smooth welcome process for new customers.
  • Maintain effective customer relationships, understand customer requirements, and develop solutions to address their needs.
  • Conduct property visits and inspections, addressing issues and concerns related to cleanliness, overcrowding, hoarding, sub-lets, and unauthorized modifications.
  • Follow policy and procedures to effectively deal with rent arrears, fly tipping, noise abatement, neighborhood nuisance, low-level ASB, sub-lets, unauthorized occupation, property access, abandonment, and other tenancy infringements.
  • Identify and report safeguarding matters, providing guidance to case management, and taking appropriate action in line with CHP's Protecting People from Harm (safeguarding) policy.

Requirements

  • Tenancy and estate management experience, including successions, tenancy changes, rent collection, arrears, viewings, and lettings.
  • Housing regulatory standards knowledge, including updated knowledge of Housing legislation.
  • Case management and complaints handling experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to use own initiative, and take a flexible approach in managing conflicting priorities under pressure.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused role, with proven ability to deal with conflict and difficult conversations.
