Curriculum Leader

We are seeking a Curriculum Leader to join our Humanities team at our Outstanding Mixed School in Kingston. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of our school and contributing to the development of our students.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and management, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire students and staff alike. You will be expected to work closely with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and achievement.

Our school is an Outstanding Mixed School in Kingston, with a well-above Progress 8 score and excellent behaviour. We have a long-standing history of academic excellence and have been categorised as Outstanding in all categories of our recent Ofsted report. Our school has an excellent culture which supports students and staff members alike, we have worked with the school for a number of years, and it is an excellent place to work both in terms of students and staff members.

As a Curriculum Leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum plans, leading and managing the Humanities department, and working closely with colleagues to develop and implement whole-school policies and initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement curriculum plans, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across KS3 & KS4.
  • Lead and manage the Humanities department, including curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement whole-school policies and initiatives.
  • Mentor and support new teachers and staff members.


Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a formal teaching qualification.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students and staff alike.
  • A strong understanding of curriculum development and implementation.


Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
