About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in General Internal Medicine to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our General Internal Medicine Directorate, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients across our county.

Main Responsibilities

As a Consultant in General Internal Medicine, you will be expected to provide a clinical service to patients of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, General Practitioners, and attend multi-disciplinary meetings. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide high-quality clinical care, and your work will be undertaken on three sites and closer to the patients' home. You will provide support to the A&E department and acute medicine to ensure timely appropriate care, and patient flow through the hospital. Key performance indicators will be established at each stage of the patient's journey and be designed to support flow through the hospital system.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications include Full GMC Registration with a Licence to practise, success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination (MRCP) or overseas equivalent, and successful completion of MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 or equivalent. Desirable qualifications include a Higher degree and Entry on Specialist Register in General Internal Medicine (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date).
