Job Title: Principal Product Safety Engineer

Location: Various locations across the UK, with flexible working arrangements available.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Safety Engineer to lead the development of functional safety cases for our products. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety analysis and justification, with experience in leading small teams and managing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of functional safety cases for our products
  • Manage the production of safety cases to a defined schedule, reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager
  • Undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis
  • Produce written function safety justifications
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including System Engineers, Human Factors Subject Matter Experts, and other internal and external teams

Requirements:

Essential:

  • STEM degree or relevant experience
  • Experience in leading small teams
  • Delivering functional safety cases
  • Complex safety analysis and justification

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the submarine industry, particularly in Vehicle Control and Complex Control Systems
