About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Vehicle Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with a deep understanding of heavy-duty vehicles and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to ensure fleet reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on curtain sider trailers, tractor units, and tippers.
  • Inspect and identify issues related to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to prevent downtime and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Ensure vehicles and trailers comply with safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to efficiently troubleshoot faults and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of services and repairs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to manage and prioritize workloads effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • HGV License Class 1 is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working with HGVs, trailers, and tippers is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of curtain sider trailers, tractor units, and tippers is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements is crucial.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • A high level of attention to detail and organizational skills is necessary to maintain accurate records and ensure efficient workflow.

Compensation & Benefits

  • We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
