We're seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Chef to join our team at Chartwells - Schools, a leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food that delights our clients and customers.

About the Role

As a Chef at Chartwells - Schools, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food that meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and nutrition.
  • Overseeing and implementing menu changes to ensure our food services remain fresh and exciting.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve our food services and implementing changes to enhance the customer experience.
  • Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services.
  • Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts that meet the needs of our clients and customers.
  • Representing Chartwells - Schools and maintaining a positive brand image.
  • Monitoring inventories to ensure our kitchens are well-stocked and efficient.
  • Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for great-tasting food and exceptional customer service.
  • A City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Experience supervising a team and managing kitchen operations.
  • Experience in a similar Chef role with a focus on menu planning, food preparation, and customer service.
  • A Food Hygiene certificate and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • A flexible approach to working and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
