About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the modernisation of our application platform for PatentSight+. This is a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge platform that enables core IP activities such as competitive intelligence and benchmarking, portfolio optimisation, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new features, such as a Sharing Service, Smart Search Engine, and User Data Manager, to enhance the platform's functionality.
  • Develop a Python Lambda to handle requests to an RDS database and assist in refactoring functionality out of the application.
  • Raise issues around the team's process or practices and work with the team to implement improvements.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, such as retrospectives, to drive team growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with modern React frameworks, with NextJS or server-side rendering experience being a plus.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following: C#, SQL, or Python.
  • Platform experience, especially around AWS Serverless, App Sync, Cloud Formation, and microservice architectures.
  • Extensive Software Engineering experience, particularly in large systems, refactoring, and dealing with technical debt.
  • Experience with GraphQL or similar API schemas.
  • Collaboration experience with key stakeholders in diverse development environments like Agile and Waterfall.
  • Knowledge of continuous software delivery processes.
