About the Role

SLR Consulting is seeking an experienced Ecological/Environmental Clerk of Works to join our team in the UK. As an Ecological Advisor for Sustainable Development, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing ECoW, EnvCoW, or ecological aspects of projects, advising clients on schemes such as renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and delivering ecological surveys for fauna, including assessments and mitigation design
  • Keeping accurate site records in accordance with scientific data collection principles
  • Supervising and mentoring ECoW or EnvCoW staff, enabling team and personal development goals to be achieved
  • Preparing fee proposals, report writing, and technical review of peer and sub-contractor reports

Requirements

  • Experience of delivering an impartial design, implementation, or auditing role for developers, contractors, or environmental regulators
  • General knowledge of habitats, botany, and protected/notable species in the terrestrial and aquatic environment
  • Professional and efficient report writing skills, a good theoretical grounding in ecology and environmental assessment
