Carrington West is currently assisting a busy client in Leicestershire to find an experienced Fleet Vehicle Repair Expert to join their dedicated team.

The estimated salary for this position is around £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The main duties of the Fleet Vehicle Repair Expert are:

  • To inspect, service, and repair a wide range of vehicles, plant, and equipment to ensure they meet council standards.
  • To diagnose and troubleshoot faults, carry out maintenance, and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
  • To complete written or computerized job records, detailing the work carried out, parts used, and time taken.
  • To collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all repairs and maintenance are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • To maintain a clean, safe workshop environment by adhering to health and safety procedures and minimizing waste.
  • To mentor apprentices and help support their development as part of the team.
  • To keep up to date with new vehicle maintenance technologies and best practices.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A strong understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, electronic job cards, and maintenance software.
  • Experience in vehicle diagnostics and the ability to repair vehicles, plant, and equipment.
  • Health and safety training specific to workshop environments.
  • A full current driving licence (Class C LGV licence is desirable).
