We are seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our Legal Services team at Sheffield City Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing authoritative advice to the Council's officers and members, ensuring that decisions are lawful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of complex and interesting commercial law matters
  • Provide advice on contract, procurement, and subsidy control matters
  • Work closely with the Council's officers and members to ensure compliance with legal requirements

Requirements:

  • Recognised legal qualification (Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX)
  • Understanding of legal case management systems and process knowledge
  • Technical knowledge in the specialist area of Commercial Law

What We Offer:

  • Salary from £44,428 to £48,474 per annum
  • Full-time – 37 hours a week
  • Hybrid / Flexible working
  • Pension scheme – 19% total contribution (you pay approximately 6.5%) and by joining the scheme this includes Death in service cover of 3 x your salary
  • Annual leave – 26 days plus bank holidays increasing to 31 days after 5 years' service plus bank holidays AND you can buy additional leave should you need to
