About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Lead Psychological Practitioner for our Diabetes Care service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological assessments and interventions to patients with diabetes, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of our service's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to patients with diabetes, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our service's policies and procedures, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with diabetes, including GPs, consultants, and other specialists.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to ensure that their needs are met and that they receive the best possible care.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on psychological aspects of diabetes care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our service's quality improvement strategy.
Requirements
  • Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Significant experience of working with patients with diabetes, including those with complex mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and carers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
