About the Role

We are seeking a talented Buyer to join our team at Nobody's Child, a leading women's fashion brand. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing your own category, reporting into the Senior Buying Lead.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Senior Buyer in managing multiple categories
  • Delivering a seasonally framework with sales, buys and options mixes with Merchandising and Design partners
  • Driving the development of our responsible product, working closely with Design, Garment Technology and suppliers
  • Reactive and quick to respond to current trends and trade, constantly evaluating upcoming ranges and looking for opportunities
  • Building relationships with suppliers and establishing trigger dates for trade
  • Chasing and mitigating risk where required
  • Working with the fabric team to book and monitor fabric/yarn commitment to trade effectively through the season
  • Collaborating with Designers, Techs and Product Merchandisers from the start of the development stage to ensure designs align with the Product Framework and meet quality and margin targets
  • Managing and updating the critical path for the department and feeding back to the Senior Buyer in weekly critical path meetings
  • Assisting Senior Buyer with all initial development & cost price enquiries and supporting negotiations of cost prices to ensure margins are achieved with best product delivery
  • Assisting with all fabric and garment approvals
  • Preparing and attending fit sessions with the BA, updating the fit list on a weekly basis and updating the Senior Buyer with seal deadlines and priority working closely with the Garment technical team ensuring product fit is of a high commercial standard
  • Managing & maintaining good supplier relationships
  • Sample management by supporting organisation of samples for Wholesale/ E-com / Campaign / Content shoots
  • Understanding of reports and confident in suggesting trade actions identifying opportunity & risk
  • Monitoring competitor analysis and completing regular comp shops
  • Assisting in training of the BAA roles & managing their weekly workload and daily tasks

Requirements:

  • Around 6 years of buying experience in a similar fast paced retailer
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail related to product, process, and systems
  • Excellent numerical, written & verbal communication skills
