The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Care and Support Commissioning Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to play a pivotal role in the smooth running of our Care and Support services.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with operational colleagues and Commissioners to ensure that commissioning tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Procure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely services for individuals, including the payment of care services for both adults and children.
  • Provide purchasing support to operational teams and oversee the management and administration of Direct Payments.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of commissioning and brokerage principles and practices.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Be dynamic, solutions-focused, and able to inspire others with their attitudes and actions.
