Key Responsibilities

  • As a Footwear Product Developer, you will have experience designing mens footwear for a high fashion retailer and bring your excellent drawing skills and practical knowledge of shoe design to support our designers.
  • You will assist in the development of customer and market focused product collections each season that are in line with the company strategy for the brand.
  • You will research trends, new materials, trims and colour palettes and design new products incorporating your original ideas.
  • You will provide technical drawings for suppliers, finalise the approved designs for production and work closely with the buying team to ensure fit and aesthetics meet brand requirements.

Requirements

  • You must have a strong understanding of and passion for the Kurt Geiger brand, customer and collections.
  • You must be able to produce high quality work (Cads and Specs) quickly and efficiently.
  • You must be engaged and enthusiastic about the fashion industry with strong knowledge of luxury and high street trends and have the ability to contribute and apply this to our brand.
  • You must be able to produce original, creative and brand appropriate ideas based on upcoming trends.
  • You must have the ability and passion to work across multiple product categories.
  • You must be confident in presenting your designs formally and informally.
  • You must have excellent communication skills with your team, other teams and suppliers.
  • You must be flexible with the ability to change and reprioritise what you are working on when required.
  • You must have strong technical and practical knowledge that allows you to deliver accurate samples.
  • You must be able to take responsibility for your design work, following samples through until a perfect sample is delivered to the deadlines – a thorough and proactive approach in sample management.
  • You must be able to work without supervision but be part of a team.
