We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with autism in our enhanced resource unit.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with social and emotional needs
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who struggle to engage in class
  • Leading interventions around positive communication and teamwork
  • Managing the challenging behaviors of targeted individuals

Requirements:

  • Ability to build relationships with pupils who present with autism
  • At least one year's experience working in a school
  • Excellent classroom control and behavior management
  • Effective communication with pupils and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive role model for the children
