Salary: £17.96 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate in a biochemistry-related field seeking their first role in the industry. 0-2 years of industry experience is required for this position.
This role is for a R&D Scientist position in the Protein Chemistry group, part of the Protein and Process Analytics R&D team, whose function is to deliver high-value technical innovation. The position will provide analytical support using a range of analytical methods, including CE-SDS, liquid chromatography (SEC, PrA affinity, RP) and mass spectrometry (MS) to R&D projects, as well as more general analytical testing as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform experiments, analyze data, and report results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Ensure scientific data is accurate and draw meaningful conclusions from data against experimental goals.
- Develop skills and expertise in the Protein Chemistry area, with a focus on product quality attributes (e.g. size variants, charge variants, glycan analysis) and related assays (e.g. SEC, CE-SDS, RP-LC, MS).
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's in Biochemistry, Biology, or Biomanufacturing.
- Experience with protein chemistry would be desirable.
- Previous work in an analytical laboratory with experience in at least one protein chemistry-related technique (i.e. liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, or capillary electrophoresis), with application to protein analysis.
